2001's "Death By Chocolate" was one of the most thoroughly enjoyable albums of the past couple of years. German outfit, De Phazz dabble in uncut pop, beat flavours, cool jazz, dancehall reggae and sophistikitch. Is it worldbeat? Why not, and if not, who cares. For 2003 they've cut "Daily Llama", another irresistible collection (count 'em, 20 tracks) of sexy, sarcastic and sublime tunes. You'll hear elements of samba, reggae dub and the hook of conga and bongo rhythms, even a song or two in French and German. What's Behind? epitomizes De Phazz's command of Euro-cool.
